Abstract

Patient safety is a fundamental aspect of healthcare services, particularly in the treatment of heart attack cases that require rapid and appropriate management to prevent death and serious complications. This study aims to analyze the influence of medical personnel competence, number of trainings, work motivation, and personality on the level of patient safety incidents in heart attack cases at Sultan Imanuddin Regional Hospital, Pangkalan Bun, Central Kalimantan. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The population consisted of medical personnel involved in the treatment of heart attack patients, with the sample size determined using the Slovin formula and a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using ordinal logistic regression with statistical software. The results show that medical personnel competence, number of trainings, work motivation, and personality each influence the level of patient safety incidents, and collectively these four variables also influence patient safety incidents. The research model has strong explanatory power in describing the variation in patient safety incidents. The findings indicate that improving medical personnel competence, continuous training, high work motivation, and positive personality traits play an important role in reducing the risk of patient safety incidents, particularly in the treatment of heart attack cases in hospitals.
