Hubungan antara Bullying yang Dialami dengan Prestasi Akademik di SMK Negeri 2 Banjarmasin

Bullying is an aggressive behavior that is carried out intentionally and repeatedly, including verbal, physical, psychological, and cyberbullying, which can have negative impacts on students’ psychological conditions and learning processes. Students who experience bullying are at risk of decreased learning concentration, academic motivation, and sense of safety in the school environment, which may consequently affect their academic achievement. This study aimed to determine the relationship between bullying experienced by students and academic achievement at State Vocational High School 2 Banjarmasin.This study employed a quantitative design with a descriptive correlational approach using a cross-sectional method. The population consisted of all eleventh-grade students at State Vocational High School 2 Banjarmasin, totaling 500 students. A sample of 83 respondents was selected using purposive sampling based on inclusion criteria. Bullying was measured using a modified Adolescent Peer Relations Instrument (APRI) questionnaire, while academic achievement was assessed based on students’ report card grades. Data were analyzed using the Spearman Rank test with a significance level of 0.05.The results showed that most respondents experienced bullying at a mild level and had good academic achievement. Bivariate analysis indicated a significant relationship between bullying and academic achievement, with a p-value of 0.008 and a correlation coefficient of r = -0.290, indicating a low negative correlation. This finding suggests that higher levels of bullying are associated with lower academic achievement. Therefore, schools are expected to strengthen bullying prevention efforts to create a safe and conducive learning environment.
