Abstract

Lipoma is the most common benign mesenchymal tumor originating from mature adipose tissue, yet local epidemiological data in Indonesia remain limited. This study aimed to describe the profile of lipoma patients at RSUD Tenriawaru, Bone Regency, during 2023–2025 based on age, sex, occupation, lipoma type, anatomical location, and tumor size. This was a descriptive retrospective study with using secondary data from medical records, and total sampling yielded 67 patients who met the inclusion criteria. Data were analyzed univariately as frequency distributions using statistical software. The results showed that most patients were aged 45–65 years (68.7%), predominantly female (53.7%), and mostly housewives (44.7%). The most common lipoma type was angiolipoma (49.0%), the most frequent anatomical location was the wrist (26.9%), and the majority of tumors measured 5–10 cm (43.3%). These findings imply that lipoma is more frequently found in middle-aged adults who tend to seek medical care only after the mass has enlarged, so that improved medical record documentation and early-detection education are needed to support diagnosis and management.
