Edukasi dan Penguatan Akhlak Masyarakat melalui Penyuluhan Partisipatif di Desa Perteguhan Kabupaten Karo

Abstract

Morality (akhlaq) is a fundamental foundation for building a harmonious, religious, and respectful society. However, technological advancements and social changes have created various challenges, including declining social awareness, reduced community cooperation, and limited understanding of ethical behavior in digital media. These conditions highlight the need for educational programs that actively engage the community. This community service program aimed to enhance public understanding of the importance of akhlaq as the foundation of social life in Perteguhan Village, Karo Regency. The program was conducted from 4–9 July 2026 using the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach and involved eight participants, consisting of five community leaders, one religious leader, and two parents. The activities included preliminary observation, participatory counseling, group discussions, interviews, the distribution of educational booklets, and evaluation through a simple questionnaire. The results showed that all participants actively engaged in the program and responded positively. All participants (100%) stated that the materials were easy to understand, clearly delivered, beneficial, and supported by useful educational booklets, while 87.5% considered the materials relevant to community needs. The program produced several outcomes, including improved community understanding of moral values, the development of an educational booklet as a learning resource, and strengthened collaboration among university students, the village government, religious leaders, community leaders, and local residents in promoting sustainable moral development. Therefore, participatory counseling based on the PRA approach can serve as an effective strategy for strengthening moral values and fostering sustainable character development within rural communities.
