Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a progressive health problem that may remain asymptomatic during its early stages, making early detection among high-risk populations essential. The “Ayo Cek Ginjal!” community service program aimed to improve kidney health knowledge among community members and health cadres, identify individuals at risk of impaired kidney function, and encourage appropriate follow-up for abnormal screening results. The program was implemented in Sokaraja Kidul Village through health cadre training, community education, risk-factor assessment, blood pressure, body weight, and body mass index measurements, and urea and creatinine testing using point-of-care testing (POCT). Health cadres and the community service team provided result-based education, follow-up assistance, and referral for participants requiring further evaluation. Kidney health education reached 100 community members, while screening was conducted among 45 individuals at risk. The results showed that 33 participants (73.3%) were within the reference range, 5 (11.1%) were classified as high risk, 2 (4.4%) as very high risk, and 5 (11.1%) had creatinine levels below the reference range. Two participants with markedly elevated results were referred for further evaluation at healthcare facilities. The program demonstrates that integrating health education, cadre participation, risk-based screening, POCT, and referral mechanisms can support improved kidney health literacy and early detection of impaired kidney function at the community level.
